An attachment to pneumatic planter for mechanical sowing of soybean seeds

As a result of researches conducted in the Department of mechanization of VNIIMK, there was developed and made an attachment to a planter UPS-8 for mechanical sowing of soybean seeds. The construction of this device is described. The dependence between seed sowing depth, plant population and speed of sowing teams of planters UPS-8 MECh and Gaspardo was revealed. The results of industrial trials are presented. A comparison of the planter Gaspardo and the re-equipped planter UPS-8 MECh showed that the last one provides a bigger sowing rate per a running meter and accuracy of sowing of soybean seeds. The efficiency of a planter increased sufficiently and its reliability enlarged, especially on turbo speeds, because of a lack of a vacuum system.
