The key and priority area in the work of the police during the war years was the activity related to ensuring law and order, which was implemented in joint cooperation and partnership with the public. The 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which our country celebrated this year, is a very significant reason to consider in detail and evaluate the accumulated positive experience of joint law enforcement cooperation of police officers and the public in the field of law enforcement during the war. As a methodological basis for the study, the author used data obtained from various sources that provided all the necessary conditions for an objective comprehensive analysis of the interaction of police officers and the public during the war. The study and assessment of the experience of integrating law enforcement interaction during the war between police officers and citizens indicates that the joint work under consideration had a number of characteristic features inherent in it. Among the various forms of public participation in the field of law enforcement, a special role during the war was assigned to police assistance teams and public order protection groups. The conducted research allows us to conclude that the effectiveness of interaction between police officers and the public largely depended on many factors, among which the most decisive were the degree of civic position of the population, which took part in various forms of interaction with police officers. The military experience of organizing the interaction in question is still relevant today and can serve as a methodological basis for increasing efforts to develop partnership relations between law enforcement officers and the population.
