The problem of abortion in the context of demography

The article proposes to consider the reduction in the number of artificial abortions of pregnancy (abortions) as one of the factors of possible improvement of the demographic situation in our country: an increase in the birth rate and natural population growth. To this end, the analysis of the dynamics of the birth rate of the population and the number of abortions is carried out on the basis of data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Health from 2005 to 2022, data from surveys of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTSIOM) on the causes of abortions, proposals are formulated aimed at reducing the number of abortions and possible, in this regard, an increase in the number of births.
