The author considers the problem of discrimination of national minority in Lithuania in the end of 1930s, in the issue of Jewish rights abuses. The author views the status of national minority and the problems the Jewish as the indigenous citizens faced (they were the second most numerous group). In spite of the fact that the Constitution guaranteed equality of all citizens under the law, de-facto it was not actually true. The author provides examples of discrimination of Jewish population in pre-war Lithuania and concludes that not only adult people were discriminated (they had problems with admission to the university and placement), but also children, who had problems with school attendance and faced prejudice against Jewish population. The study is based on rare documents from the Foreign office Archive of the Russian Federation.
