The Problem of Form-Creation in the Rock Lyrics of A. M. Litvinov

Бесплатный доступ

The complexity of artistic language and the existential-absurdist orientation of themes in the lyrics of rock poet A. M. Litvinov allow his work to be viewed within the context of the artistic pursuits of Russian modernist poetry. The core body of Litvinov’s lyri-cism adheres to the essential modernist paradigm of provocation and play. This pro-vocative and playful aesthetic is realized in two primary aspects. The first involves a declared asemantic quality and deliberate semantic obscurity of the text, bordering on absurdity. To implement this principle of asemanticism, the author employs a wide range of ludic poetic techniques. The second aspect lies in the absolutization of the text’s “peripheral” formal components — those considered secondary in traditional art. Analysis of several of Litvinov’s works reveals the significant role of phonetic axiolo-gy in his poetics, indicating that his texts are more “symbolic” than “illustrative”.
