The history of contacts between China and Central Asian countries is an important part of many studies devoted to the history of China. The chronicles of almost all periods of Chinese history contain the information about China's relations with other civilizations. Many of these sources were translated into Russian and other European languages and accompanied by detailed commentaries. The total amount of archaeological material, a large quantity of Chinese imports in ancient sites on the territory of Central Asia and elements of Chinese influence in the material and spiritual culture confirm that Chinese involvement in the events of the political history of this region was tangible.
