Esports is actively developing both in Russia and around the world. However, due to the youth of the industry, it is characterized by a number of problems that slow down the growth rate. One of these difficulties is the short period of performance of esports athletes for one team. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to find ways to optimize the rotation of personnel to increase the life cycle of players in professional esports teams in Russia to three years. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were completed: the average period of performance of players for a team in the most popular types of esports and traditional sports was calculated; current examples of transfer decisions in esports were given; the main causes and consequences of high staff turnover in esports teams were identified. The object of the study is the process of player rotation in Russian esports, and the subject is personnel management tools in this industry. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the analysis of the factors influencing the level of staff turnover in professional teams of domestic esports. The study revealed that Russian eSports lags behind traditional sports in Russia by almost 3 times in terms of the average period of players’ performance for one team. In addition, a list of recommendations was outlined to solve the problem, among which one can highlight the launch of a program for training coaches and managers in eSports, the formation of an association of domestic clubs and a trade union of Russian eSports athletes, as well as the creation of regulatory bodies in each individual eSports discipline.
