The problem of the criterion of true knowledge in Leibniz's philosophy: clear and distinct ideas

This issue is related to the problem of the truth of knowledge, which, according to classical rationalism, is based on intellectual intuition. In the article we explore the approach of G. W. Leibniz to the question of the reliability of knowledge his conception of «ideas». Contemplation of ideas is a direct understanding of the nature of the object. The criterion of clarity and distinctness is the gradual movement from less adequate to more adequate knowledge. From the point of view of Leibniz, true knowledge will be such, which is the immediate content of consciousness with the logical identity.
