The problem of the identity crisis: cultural and philosophical analysis

The problem of identity in modern scientific discourse is represented in a multidimensional manner, and it has long been an interdisciplinary category of social and humanitarian knowledge. The urgency of the cultural and philosophical analysis of the problem of crisis identity is generally due to the crisis of modern civilization and social and information transformations, which require a serious interpretation of their essence. The research objective is to conceptualize the phenomenon of the identity crisis as one of the fundamental problems of social reality. In accordance with the objective to be achieved, the author solves the following problems: the detection of the ontological status of identity within the hierarchical structure of being; the disclosure of the nature of the identity crisis, which in many respects determines the dogmatism and relativism of modern man’s thinking; the comprehension of the subject of history as a guarantor of the formation of civil identity. The methodological bases of the study were the principles of system, interrelation, development and contradictions, the phenomenological method and the method of philosophical reflection.
