The article reviews the psychological researches studying the motivation to learn of school students with mild mental retardation. The authors consider the age-related peculiarities of motivation to learn of this category of students, discuss the structure of the motivation to learn. The paper analyzes the most important tendencies of changes in the motivation to learn of mentally challenged school students, specific features of motivation to learn of junior school students and teenagers with mild mental retardation.
