The issue of insufficient funding of the state theaters of Russia

Rather big group of experts recognizes that the theater is the special territory of creativity of people, serves as nutrient medium for other branches of culture and art. However in the conditions of the market relations existence of theaters not always fits into their logic that complicates realization of significant social functions. In this regard the importance of a role of the state also increases in providing necessary conditions of development of theaters and, thereby, to contribute to cultural develop- ment and societies. The relevance of a subject of the scientific article is caused by the increasing emphasis of attention on the state support of cultural institutions and arts on an equal basis with other sources of financing of their activity. An object of research are the budgetary and own funds of financing of theater as the most guaranteed sources of “survival” of institutions in the modern market of services. The purpose of the scientific article - to generalize a research of the largest analytical agency showing a modern situation in aspect of problems of insufficient funding of the state theaters of Russia and also to carry out own analysis of financial and economic activity of one of conditionally young Moscow state theaters. The conclusion about need of search of new channels of financing of activity of the state theaters is as a result drawn. The list of both “external” and “internal” decisions for modern state theaters of Russia is offered.
