The problem of the normal and the abnormal in socio-humanitarian knowledge

Introduction. Under consideration is the problem of normal and abnormal in humanitarian knowledge. The aim is to analyze the available approaches to the understanding of norm and deviations from it in socio-humanitarian knowledge. Materials, Results and Discussion. Different approaches of the authors of sociological theories to the problem of norm and deviations from it are presented. The connection of deviations from the norm with differentiated association is analyzed, the concept of anomie and its modification, the reasons for this or that reaction of an individual to anomie, the connection of deviations from the norm with conformity of an individual, the attitude of society to his behavior and the practice of punishment, as well as the conscious choice of an abnormal way of life are considered. The state and social institutions are viewed exclusively as punitive, repressive bodies that suppress human freedom and generate abnormalities in the behavior or psyche of an individual.
