The problem of society through overcoming social contradictions by law in A. Merkel’s legal doctrine

The article deals with lofty philosophical issues of searching and finding it-self by society through the creation of a peaceful order of social life and social development by means of law. The specific features of these issues are compre-hended and interpreted by the famous German jurist A. Merkel (1836-1896). In the 1880s, A. Merkel made a sociologically oriented statement about the law as a compromise of competitive interests, which ideological and theoretical origins were primarily associated with the ideas of Ihering and Marx. The research is to establish and clarify the nature and methods of interpreting the society as an in-tegrated system through the theoretical reconstruction of its legal structure in A. Merkel’s legal thinking. The research methodology is based on theoretical and historical analysis of political and legal doctrines as well as the specific methods of the philological analysis of the text.
