The problem of translating extended attributive phrases from Chinese into Russian: on the example of socio-political texts

The purpose of the paper is to reveal basic structural types of Chinese extended attributive phrases and to demonstrate principles of their translation into Russian. Thirty extended attributive phrases are selected for analyzing syntactic and semantic relations within them. The translation of these phrases into Russian is made with the using of the method opposite to the method of A.V. Skvortsov, which was previously used to analyze the syntactic structure of Chinese sentences. As a result of the analysis several structural types of Chinese extended attributive phrases are revealed and described in the context of their translation principles using the chosen method.
