The problem of platonism in neo-patristics of G.V. Florovsky

The purpose of this study is to consider the theological teachings of G.V. Florovsky about creature-hood in connection with the rethinking of the Platonic doctrine of ideas, carried out by Russian philosophical and theological thought in the 20th century. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the consideration of Florovsky's ideas about the ideal world and its role in creation in the context of polemics with the philosophy of unity and sophiology, as well as in comparison with the concepts of V.V. Zenkovsky and V.N. Lossky. The antinomies of Florovsky's positioning of the ideal world in the divine nature and the denial of its presence in the created world as a basis are analyzed. It is argued that the assumption of an ideal world in the bosom of a deity does not allow Florovsky to fully overcome Platonism, which is expressed in the conceptual convergence of ideas with divine energies.
