The article considers the preparation of a teacher for goal setting in their professional activity as a quality aspect within the conditions of realizing state federal educational standards of higher professional education. The preparation for goal setting is presented as a cycle process that includes the following stages: setting a goal, keeping a goal, correcting a goal. The article shows the importance of managing the reflective processes for preparing a teacher for goal setting in their professional activity.
