The issue of human rights and freedoms in the context of self-determination of the nation (case study of the Republic of Dagestan)

The paper makes an attempt to analyze the most important aspects of the human rights guarantee in the context of the ideas and practical implementation of the theses of international legal documents declaring the right of the peoples to self-determination. It is shown that the rights of a particular representative of national and other minorities depend on their status and the level of their collective rights in the relevant national state. According to the author’s opinion, in the multinational Republic of Dagestan, one of the possible solutions of this problem could be the introduction of the regulations and principles of the so-called consociational democracy.
