The problem of state succession in modern international law

This article discusses the features of state succession in modern international law. Attention is paid to such problems in this area as: the lack of legal regulation of private cases of succession, the conflict of recognition of the grounds for the succession of states, as well as the responsibility of the state for its predecessor. The most optimal ways of solving these problems are proposed, taking into account both the generally recognized principles and norms of international law and the interests of certain categories of citizens.
