Although the cause and effects of teacher burnout had been well studied and documented, the rate of teacher shortages continues to rise; therefore, the need to continue and extend the research with intend to find feasible solutions is crucial. The purpose of this literature review was to gain a deeper understanding of the causes and effects and to explore effective strategies teachers, administrators, and policymakers can do to minimize teacher burnout and reduce turnover.
