The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems of professional competence of personnel in the hospitality sector. The definitions of the concept of professional competence are given, its essential characteristics are described. The specificity of the professional competence of workers in the hospitality industry is analyzed, a meaningful model is described, including the value, communicative and professional competencies. The key importance of the competencies of the personnel of the hospitality industry related to the organization and direct implementation of professional activities is emphasized.
