The problem of forgiveness in a virtual communicative culture

Бесплатный доступ

The paper considers the features of network communication, its advantages and disadvantages. In particular, the phenomenon of resentment and possible causes of its occurrence, including within the framework of a virtual communicative culture, are investigated. Defining traditional resentment as the presence of a deep connection between interlocutors, the concept of "virtual" resentment is used to determine the possibility of this feeling between unfamiliar people. Appealing to the concept of "cyber aggression" and highlighting its various types, the author tries to show the variety of ways to inflict "virtual" resentment. In this regard, the question of the possibility of forgiveness as a way to overcome it is raised. Using the concept of "virtual" forgiveness, the author believes that it, in contrast to the traditional understanding, is complicated by the lack of a specific image of the virtual interlocutor and thus is untenable. However, given the fact that the virtual self always hides a real person, it is necessary to follow the traditional moral values of communication.
