The problem of teenagers' Psychological dependence/independence on their parents

Teenagers' personal development is characterized by two oppositely directed tendencies: aspiration for independence, characterized by the personal development aim at this period, and aspiration for keeping infant's dependence insuring the sense of safety, security. While studying emotional dependence the author reveals that the problem of the correlation between dependent and attachment behavior in child-parental relationships plays a significant role. In psychology affection means search and establishment of affinity with another personality; dependence is considered as a separate phenomenon which includes some characteristics of affection connected with the necessity for close relations but it also features uncertainty, supervision, rights inequality, necessity for constant acknowledgement of these relationships continuation.
