The problem of religious neophity among the special contingent of Federal Penal Service

This article discusses the causes and conditions for the manifestation of neophytes among the special contingent (suspects, accused, convicted persons) held in the penitentiary system. The characteristic of this phenomenon from the point of view of the threat to the security of the penitentiary system and society as a whole is given. Concrete problems connected with counteraction to the formation of extremist cells in places of deprivation of liberty and detention are examined.
