The paper deals with the problem of the meaning of life and ways to solve it in modern philosophical anthropology. The purpose of the study is to analyze the causes of the existential vacuum that has arisen in the modern public consciousness and to find ways for a person to gain meaning through an appeal to the philosophy of dialogue and existentialism. The authors analyze the concepts of the twentieth century philosophers such as J. Baudrillard, M. Buber, and V. Frankl. By directing civilization to ensure maximum comfort through technology, man paradoxically finds himself in conflict with the new environment. Modern philosophers, stating the crisis of man that arose as a result of human activity, call for overcoming it by “comprehension” of ongoing events, obtaining sense of what is happening through the restoration of the value hierarchy and ontological hierarchy, realized in the “I - Thou” relationship and the relationship of man and God.
