The problem of preserving historical memory in the functioning of the district police guard of the Russian Empire

The article analyzes the problem of preserving historical memory in the activities of the national police. The experience of the functioning of the district police guard of the Russian Empire is considered as an example. The author comes to the conclusion that the leadership of the country and the department sought to construct a common historical narrative within the police as a special corporation, as well as to consolidate and preserve the image of the police itself in the memory of the national society on the example of the heroic deeds of its representatives.
