The problem of historical and cultural heritage preservation in Kosovo: the world politics aspect

The purpose of this work is to identify the relationship between world politics and culture in the context of the concept of sustainable development. As an example, the author analyzes the situation in Kosovo, where cultural and historical objects have become hostages of the ethno-confessional conflict and the subject of bargaining by actors in the international arena. The relevance of the paper is determined by the presence of ongoing terrorist attacks against cultural heritage sites in the region and the world. During the conflict in Kosovo, there was a mutual cultural and ethnic genocide, which the conflict parties are not willing to admit. Moreover, given the primary responsibility of the state for the preservation of historical and religious sites, the question arises about the future of heritage sites in Kosovo with an unrecognized status. In this regard, the international community needs to be more actively involved in the situation in Kosovo.
