The problematic correlation between ethnic and religious consciousness as a factor in the worldview development of the modern youth

The study focuses on the issue of ability/inability of one community to possess two forms of public consciousness simultaneously. The review of such concepts as ethnic consciousness and religious consciousness can provide an opportunity for a comprehensive study on the correlation between the above-mentioned forms of public consciousness, since an attempt is made to analyze their relationship in a particular region, i.e. the Chechen Republic, especially among Chechen youth. The problem of correlation between ethnic and religious components in the worldview structure is defined as quite relevant in terms of educating young people. Having analyzed the relationship between ethnic and religious consciousness, the author revealed the identity from the standpoint of worldview functions that turned out to be similar. The author presented the term ‘ethnic and religious consciousness’ as an indicator of the strong correlation between ethnic and religious forms of consciousness in the context of personality’s development.
