The problem оf the relationship of legality, justice, expediency and legitimacy in law enforcement

Introduction: the author analyses the fundamental for judicial science and practice category "legitimacy" and compares it with such related categories as "fairness", "purposiveness" and "appropriateness". Materials and Methods: the theoretical basis of the study was the work of domestic scientists. In the course of the study, general scientific and specific scientific research methods were used, which made it possible to analyze and generalize the materials collected by the author from various sources related to the subject of the study. Results: the article reveals the content of "legitimacy", "fairness", "purposiveness" and "appropriateness", and the peculiarities of their correlation. The author touches upon the issues of comparing these categories and their role in law enforcement. Discussion and Conclusions: the author made the appropriate conclusions based on the results of the study and put forward proposals that are important for increasing the efficiency of law enforcement.
