The problem of conscience in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky

The article analyses the problem of conscience in the work of the great Russian writer and thinker F.M. Dostoevsky. Logical methods of analysis and synthesis of volumetric material were used, which allowed to judge the depth of response of the problem of conscience in Russian literary and philosophical thought; phenomenological method, which provided understanding of conscience as a phenomenon, relevant for human being and traceable not only in acts of conscious comprehension, but also in the unconscious intention of man to realize his human essence. The aim of the article is to examine the problem of conscience in the works of the Russian writer and thinker F.M. Dostoevsky. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that it generalizes a wide range of ideas of the interpretation of conscience in the philosophical and artistic experience of the writer, reflecting not only ambivalence, but also the contradiction of the moral consciousness of modern society. Conclusion is drawn that the problem of conscience in the literary works of F.M. Dostoevsky is an individual problem of religious and moral consciousness of each individual in the context of the ontological dynamics of human essence.
