The article emphasizes the importance of a precise definition of the crime of genocide in the criminal law of individual states, ensuring its compliance with the provisions of the 1948 Convention. It notes the need to suppress cases of using a vague definition of genocide in international documents and in the criminal legislation of states, an unclear list of the criminal acts covered by it and the groups protected from encroachment. In the article, the author defines genocide as the deliberate physical or biological destruction through prohibited behavior of all or a significant part of a national, ethnic, racial or religious group as such.
