Problem of variable influence of the language abilities on the cognitive processes

The article focuses on the problem of correlation between language and cognition, on the research of the epistemological status of the language. The author reviews scientific and philosophical researches of the language and the cognition. The most recent findings suggest that the language and speech can influence various cognitive processes. In this respect, the role of the language in the perception of the reality, and its degree of activity and influence on the cognitive functions are defined.
