The key moments in the philosophy of L. P. Karsavin are his philosophy of history and personalism, as well as the doctrine of total-unity and “symphonic personality.” The true form of this all-unity, where individual persons can acquire their own being and become connected with God, is the Church, as the supreme universal personality. In the philosophy of religion of S. L. Frank, the idea of personality is also central. It is closely related to his concept of unity. According to Frank, the formation of personality will be possible if it joins the conciliar “we”-unity and becomes part of the Church. The similarity of the concepts is due to the influence of the metaphysics of unity of Nikolai Kuzansky on both thinkers. The goal of the article is a comparative analysis of the relationship between Church and personality in the works of Karsavin and Frank
