Problems of cancellation of direct elections of heads of municipalities in the Russian Federation

This article analyzes the existing form of direct implementation of local self-government by the population through municipal elections in the Russian Federation. The problem of appointing the mayor of the city through representative bodies, as well as the implementation of a form of direct democracy, is raised. During the analysis of studies and reports on this topic, a conclusion is made about the results of the reform of local self-government and the effectiveness of the model of the appointed mayor in Russia.
