Problems of Yu.Seleznev's publications in the magazine "Nash sovremennik"

This article discusses the critical works of Yuri Seleznev published in the 1980s in the journal «Our Contemporary». We examined the main topics, ideas, problems that Yuri Seleznev touched on in his work: the continuity of the traditions of Russian literature, nationality, patriotism, and unity. We studied the methodological features of the work of the critic, his tongue and style. A comparative analysis of articles by other critics of the magazine «Our Contemporary», in tune with Yuri Seleznev. In the 1980s, right-wing critics saw a solution to all pressing problems of society and the literary process by reviving national and cultural values, guided in the modern literary process by the precepts of Russian classics. This idea runs through the whole work of Yuri Ivanovich. Respect for the past, connection of the past with the present, sincerity, and conscientiousness of modern writers - these are the ways to solve these problems from the position of Seleznev-critic.
