The article deals with the implementation of the territory branding in Russian regions. The low popularity of the territory branding in Russia is determined by heavy financial and time burden, as well as low interest in this marketing tool. It is noted, that inadequate wording of the regional branding conception can lead to the negative result and create political risks. The author believes that territorial brand will be successful if it reflects the advantages of the territory over other regions.
