Problems of adaptation of women convicted to imprisonment during the period of serving the sentence

The article deals with the problem of the influence of penitentiary stress in women on adaptation to conditions of detention. Based on the conducted research, the author concludes that female persons are more susceptible to stress in the process of serving imprisonment, which is due to the psychophysiological characteristics of this category of convicts. In addition, the results of the study of this aspect showed that in conditions of isolation, women cope worse with stressful situations than men, they are more susceptible to mood swings, outbursts of aggression, anxiety, and this explains the lack of faith in a happy future, the wrong perception of others (the same women), a sense of insecurity. All this negatively affects not only the general condition of women, but also the quality of their correction within the framework of imprisonment. In order to increase the effectiveness of correctional impact, it necessary to carry out psychological work not only with the convicted woman, but also with is her close relatives, which will positively affect the use of corrective measures and reduce the problems associated with adaptation in isolation.
