The article is devoted to the analysis of some problems arising in the process of learning the discipline "Environmental framework of natural resources use" to students of the secondary vocational education system, for most of whom this subject is included in the list of general education, that is, forming exclusively general cultural competencies. The author shows that a significant part of students perceives environmental disciplines in the process of teaching exclusively as secondary ones, not directly related to their future professional activities. Overcoming such a negative perception of the discipline is achieved through the maximum involvement of the student body in solving specific practical problems arising at the intersection of economics and ecology, as well as the use of interactive educational technologies, including business games.
