Problems of functioning of the others images in the contemporary Russia (case study of nationalist trends in historiography)

The article advances an idea that history plays a special role in the development of national identity and memory. This role of the history is actualized in transit societies. The history is closely intertwined with nationalism. The nationalist intellectuals (Y. Mukhin, N. Narochnitskaya, A.R. Dyukov and others) aspire to establish and suggest historical narratives from the nationalist perspective. This nationalists’ activity results in various consequences. It contributes to diffusion of standards of a historical research and encourages politicization of historiography.
