Problems and prospects of additional education of children: based on the materials of a questionnaire survey of parents in Krasnodar

In modern Russian society, additional education of children occupies an important place in the development of the abilities, inclinations, talents of the child, influencing all his subsequent educational, labor and other activities. An important role in the choice of areas of training in the field of additional education is played by parents, who are the first agents of socialization, who guide the child in the process of upbringing, note his inclinations and decide what their child can do, what he has an interest in and what abilities should be developed. The article explores the ideas of the parent community about the problems of the system of additional education for children and the need for its improvement and development, which is also important for improving the quality of the entire educational system in Russia. Sociological surveys were used as research methods. The parent community living in Krasnodar was interviewed. As a result, the problems of additional education and promising areas for its improvement were identified. In particular, parents consider the following to be the main problems: the lack of information about the directions and opportunities for teaching additional education to children.
