Problems and prospects of literary translation in Buryat literature

The article is devoted to the problems of literary translation in Buryat literature. We have specified the concepts of literary translation, the main theoretical aspects of the problems of fiction translation. The article reveals the main stages of the development of translation practice in the history of Buryat literature, the current state of translation, the problems and general development trends. It is noted that literary translation in the literature of Buryatia is represented by translations from Russian into Buryat, from Buryat into Russian, as well as from Mongolian into Buryat and Mongolian into Russian. We have determined the main tasks for translation practice, namely, translations from Buryat into Russian of the works of Buryat literature of the 20th century, which, for one reason or another, were left out of the attention of translators; translations of the best works of Buryat literature of our times; translations of works of the Buryat abroad from Mongolian into Buryat; formation of a readership in the Buryat language in the context of bilingualism, etc.
