The article deals with the essence and objectives of preschool education in the Russian Federation. Types of preschool education are defined and advantages of this education are allocated. The article deals with the main problems in the sphere of preschool education and presents ways to solve them. Special attention is paid to the professionalism of teachers and the problem of accessibility of education.
