Problems and prospects of the construction sector development in Makhachkala

The article analyzes the situation in the construction industry of the Republic of Dagestan and the city of Makhachkala in particular. The author considers internal and external factors constraining dynamic development of the construction industry in the region, including the low level of investment activity, the lack of vocational training institutions for training of qualified construction personnel, high level of seismicity in the region, inadequate management and so on. On the background of the crisis in the construction industry there are still favorable conditions for development of the building materials production.
