The relevance of this article is due to changes in Russian-Chinese relations that occur under the influence of the military crisis in Ukraine and Western sanctions applied against Russia and China. In this regard, its purpose is analyzing the problems and prospects of cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. For that, the author uses such research methods as generalization, structural synthesis, deductive and comparative analyses. The author comes to the following conclusions. In the context of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Russian-Chinese relations were tested for strength, as they subjected to comprehensive sanctions pressure from the collective West. Despite this pressure, the relations between Russia and China demonstrate the growth of the political interaction in the international arena. Under the conditions of Western sanctions, Moscow is developing its national industry and actively cooperating with China through the development of bilateral trade. However, same obstacles limit bilateral cooperation: the difficult investment climate; the inflexibility of Russian legislation, which does not guarantee the security of Chinese business; excessive bureaucratization of procedures for setting up joint ventures, etc. To eliminate these problems, governments, economists and scientists from Russia and China are to develop ways to eliminate them. Together with political and economic cooperation, Russian-Chinese humanitarian cooperation is one of the three pillars of cooperation between Moscow and Beijing. Its development is extremely important from the point of view of opposing Western ideology and strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, as well as for strengthening cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, SCO and BRICS.
