Problems and prospects for protecting intellectual property rights in Russia

The concept of intellectual property causes numerous disputes in Russian science, which boil down to the following questions: whether this concept complies with international treaties in which the Russian Federation participates; whether its application is adequate to the legal regime of the objects in respect of which it is used; what is the place of this concept in the terminology of civil law and other branches that use it. The article analyzes the practice of protecting intellectual property rights and suggests directions for improving their protection.
