Problems and prospects of railway transport in Irkutsk region

The article analyzes changes in the economy of railway transport in Russia over the past five years, with special attention paid to the influence of global economic processes and internal factors on the development of the industry in the Irkutsk region. The problems that hinder the development of railway communication in the region, such as outdated infrastructure and lack of investment, are considered. Solutions for increasing logistics accessibility are proposed, including infrastructure modernization, attracting private investment, implementing modern logistics management systems, and integrating with other modes of transport. The importance of training qualified personnel for effective work in the field of rail transport and logistics is emphasized.
