Returning the specialist's degree will not solve all the problems of Russian higher education

The purpose of the article is an invitation to discuss proposals for reforming Russian higher education. Problems are considered and ways are proposed to improve the quality of training of specialists at the university: the rejection of mass higher education and the strengthening of competitive selection for universities, the optimization of the list of higher education specialties, the introduction of a moratorium on changes in the regulatory framework for organizing the educational process, the introduction of a “professional core” in higher education programs , reducing the teaching load and institutionalizing the professional trajectories of the teaching staff, strengthening the professional orientation of the educational process, solving the problems of employment of university graduates.
