The paper describes practical examples of results achieved by analyzing chronological and quantitative distribution of dendrochronological dates obtained for wood samples of the structures from the occupation layer and Russian wood architecture sites. The use of dendrochronological date series instead of isolated dates can be helpful in a more detailed reconstruction of construction history of specific structures. However, in reality the distribution pattern of dated components of a dwelling or a structure can often be difficult for interpretation and can sometimes have multiple interpretations. The paper demonstrates that if conclusions on the time when structures were built are based on separate dendrochronological dates, they appear to be shaky.
