The problems of studying the level of agriculture on the example of Shenkursky district of Arkhangelsk province

The possibilities of objective studying of the level of agriculture on historical sources of the late XVIII - early XX centuries are revealed. The technology of data obtaining on crops and harvests of cereals is shown and high degree of reliability of these data is proved. The attention is paid to erroneous and inexact conclusions concerning the analysis of the level of agriculture given in historical researches. On the example of a separate region the technique for processing of various sources for objective estimation of the level of agriculture is proposed.
