Problems of classification and analysis of road traffic accidents

The article deals with the concept of "road traffic accident." Particular attention is paid to the problems of classification and analysis of road traffic accidents. The author presents a classification of road traffic accidents according to the level of graveness of consequences. The main causes of the road traffic accidents are listed. It is argued that the competent actions of police officers regarding road traffic accident classification, acquisition and preparation of the necessary materials determine the course of further investigation and rendering of an objective decision on the case.
