Problems of safeguarding the legitimate interests of victims in criminal proceedings in Russia

In the article the problems of safeguarding the legitimate interests within the criminal trial in Russia are investigated. The authors have aimed to review the nature of the legitimate interests of the victims, to give a legal definition of the term, to determine its legal nature and place within the criminal trial. Based on the analysis of international legal instruments and legislation types of legitimate interests and their legal options of their enforcement in the criminal procedure are considered.
